The Mt. Carmel High School Peer Leaders is a group dedicated to empower young people to positively influence their peers, and focus on creating a positive, affirming, school environment. The group consists of volunteers from 9th through 12th grade. We believe that young people are more likely to hear and accept information that is presented and modeled by their peers. Also, we know the value and ability of young people to bring about positive change in themselves and others.

Peer leaders learn to work together as a group to develop and implement creative approaches to decreasing name calling, bullying, and other forms of prejudice and discrimination at their schools and in the community. Additionally, peer leaders lead prevention campaigns to prevent destructive decisions, such as underage drinking, drug use, risky and impaired driving, dating violence, and teenage pregnancy.
